EDUCATION

The education system in the Kokkola region provides an extensive range of possibilites on all educational levels. Services on university levels can be found at the Chydenius Institute-Kokkola University Consortium, which is specialized in teaching and research for various branches, such as information technology, production technology and educational studies.

Central Ostrobothnia Polytechnic (COP) is a middle-size and dynamic polytechnic, which offers 25 Degree Programmes in the fields of Technology, Communication and Transport, Social sciences, Business and Administration, Social Services, Health and Sports, Natural sciences, Culture, Humanities and Education and Tourism, Catering and Domestic Services.

The Federation of Education in Central Ostrobothnia is an educational and developmental organisation owned by seventeen municipalities in Central Ostrobothnia.

The Federation is responsible for arranging and providing vocational education services in Central Ostrobothnia. The Federation also takes an active part in encouraging entrepreneurial activities and in developing the region.

The Chydenius-Institute's strengths in R&D lies in the fields of ICT and Wellness Technology.

CENTRIA research and development is a unit of the Central Ostrobothnia Polytechnic which serves business and work life.
